We're looking into the next 90 years!
YWCA would like to thank everyone who joined us for our 90th Anniversary Proclamation. In 1929, a fearless group of women came together to "broaden vision, widen acquaintanceships, to break down and remove social barriers and prejudices..." and well, we are still doing all of those things and more.

In the 90 years since YWCA Greater Lafayette was founded, we have added two signature programs that work to remove barriers and empower women. Our domestic violence shelter, started in 1979 as a women in crisis shelter, is celebrating its 40 year anniversary. Today, that shelter has grown into the Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program, which serves not only women, but all victims of intimate partner violence. Our Women's Cancer Program was born out of a United Way Venture Grant awarded to YWCA in 1994. In 2018, the Women's Cancer Program provided 3,732 services to Hoosier women in need of assistance affording breast exams, mammograms, biopsies, Pap tests and more.

The core of our work is in our service to the community, and we would not be here without your support. Thank you for being a loyal YWCA supporter. We are looking forward to everything the next 10 years has in store.
